5. That as the result of several meetings of those in- -terested in the premises your petitioners are deputed to take immediate steps for the realization of a project to provide the permanent Chinese residents of this Colony with a permanent cemetery.
6. Your petitioners have made a number of excursions in the island in search of a suitable site for this purpose, and after much searching they have decided on a plot of vacant Crown Land situate on the east side of the village of Aberdeen; the exact location, boundaries and area of the said site are particularly delineated on the plan hereto attached and therein margined and shaded in red and green, which has been courteously furnished to your petitioners by the Honourable the Director of Public Works at their request.
7.
Your petitioners intend to raise among themselves a fund of $10,000.00 to carry out the scheme.
Your petitioners therefore pray
That Your Excellency may be pleased to make a free grant of the plot of vacant Crown Land as above indicated for the purpose of a permanent cemetery for the Chinese permanently residing in this Colony and that all or some of your petitioners may be made Trustees of the same. And your petitioners as in duty bound will ever pray.
Dated the 12th. day of December, 1911.
